Reinstatement Policy

A student will have one year to bring their cumulative grade point average up to a 2.5 or higher.  A current transcript and letter explaining why a student should be reinstated must be submitted to an MEP staff member.  If more than one year has lapsed, the student must reapply and will be readmitted if openings are available.

If a student moves out of the district but comes back within a school year, they may be readmitted if their cumulative grade point average is 2.5 or above.  If the student is out of the district for more than a year, they must submit a current transcript and a letter.  Students will be admitted if openings are available.

If a student does not attend all required activities, they will be dropped from the program with no opportunity for reinstatement.  If a student is unable to attend a required activity, they must notify their MEP counselor prior to the scheduled event.

At the end of each school year, cumulative grade point averages will be calculated for each student.  Students with a cumulative grade point average below 2.5 will be dropped from the program.  The number of new students admitted each school year would correlate with the number of students dropped from the program.  The maximum number of MEP students for each grade level is 220.
