MEP, formerly called the Multicultural Excellence Program, changed its name in 2012 to the Mentoring Excellence Program! This is an exciting time to be a part of MEP as we are growing and changing to better meet the needs of all Saint Paul Public School students pursuing post-secondary education. Our new name allows us to better focus with the District's strategic plan, allowing MEP to become an even more integral component in helping our students reach their future educational and professional goals.
MEP sees the mentor as the capstone of our program, and it is the expertise and leadership they bring that encourages and prepares the student for post-secondary academic education, career and volunteer goals and aspirations. In turn, the communities in which our students live are enriched and gleam healthy promise for better tomorrows.
As MEP staff focus on bring our mentoring program to a new and exciting level, we hope you will read the information below to find out how YOU can be a mentor in the life of a student. For over 25 years, mentors from many professions have been making a difference.
